Beryl Cook: Pride and Joy

MER was delighted to support the installation of Pride and Joy, a landmark exhibition celebrating 100 years since the birth of one of Britain’s most distinctive artists, Beryl Cook. Featuring more than 80 works, from her well-known, much-loved paintings to rarely seen pieces from private collections and the Cook family archives, the exhibition offers the most extensive presentation of Cook’s work to date.

Our contribution included producing the bespoke 3D lettering featured throughout the exhibition. In a unique behind-the-scenes moment, these elements were 3D printed by our CAD engineer, Jonathan, while he was in Australia, with the machine operating remotely from our Stourbridge workshop, a demonstration of MER’s ability to deliver seamlessly across distances.

Designed by Hara Clark and presented by The Box Plymouth, Pride and Joy re-examines Cook’s role as an observer of everyday British life during a period of social and cultural change. MER is proud to have played a part in bringing this significant exhibition to life.
